Thurs Oct 9 | 5:00-7:00p Katonah Yoga Workshop ~ 'That's the Spirit'
Workshop Descriptions:
Re•Pair:
It’s the natural course of life; things fall apart and in a real sense, lose their pairing. Our east overpowers our west, our liver overrides our hearts & our minds forget our bodies. Thus, the remedy isn’t found in fixing or condemning one piece of ourselves and so much more about the correlation of our opposing sides.
Re•Pair is a workshop for yoga teachers and body workers looking to elevate their teaching skills and enhance their toolkit for private lessons, this program is thoughtfully designed to empower you to deliver more meaningful lessons. Develop your adjustments, touch, vision, and repertoire of therapeutic postures. Explore proven business practices to enhance your offerings and work more efficiently within the structure of a formulaic yoga lesson. Learn key techniques to create a supportive environment that encourages your students to be reflective and catch insight.
That’s the Spirit!
Prana or Chi meaning life force
Yamas and Niyamas as codes of Conduct.
Pranayama is a practice to raise ones awareness and vibration as means to conduct the abundant resource of subtle energy and consciousness.
Fasten your seatbelts and Join Brian for a 90 min joy ride. Re-imagine the classic Katonah Yoga metaphor of the body as a car. Your breath is the driver, your mind is the occupant, your body is the vehicle and the whole is always greater than the sum of its parts. Using Taoist maps, math, metaphors and poetry, we’ll experience the function of organs and glands as gears and pumps. You’ll learn to leverage circumstance through technical facility and understanding. Find out how to locate the blind spots, start the engine, stay in the right lane, read the maps and drive to your destination.
Breathwork is a practice that focus on conscious control and manipulation of one's breath. It involves intentionally altering the pattern, depth, and rhythm of breathing to access specific physical, mental, and emotional states.

Taoist 5 element theory recognizes the body as our sacred Earth, the playground from which our life unfolds and how literally everything can be expressed through a metaphor. From the substance of our conversations to the actualization of our physical forms, our embodied realization means our words can match our actions and in-turn illuminate our integrated self. With good practice we are afforded more grace, ease and peace of mind. Heaven is in this moment and The Body is Now.
This training emphasizes the profound connection between the human experience and the Earth. Orient and explore yourself through the lens of Katonah Yoga®. Learn to better inhabit your physical forms with greater awareness and new information. Add potency and poetry to your private lessons and classes through the playful nature of Taoist theory and the skillful art of adjusting in joint space. Set up conditions for an efficacious breath practice . Over the course of 20 hours, we will delve into the wealth of material that is Katonah Yoga®, studying Nevine's timeless metaphors and relating them to our own personal experiences helping to cultivate a deeper understanding and derive meaning.
